Megan Canfora, M.A., LPC
Megan is a trauma‑informed therapist who believes healing is not something that happens to you, but something created with you. She sees her role as walking alongside clients as they make sense of their experiences, reconnect with themselves, and build a life that feels meaningful and authentically their own. At Lighthouse, she offers a steady, compassionate presence—helping clients find direction when the waters feel unclear.
She works with children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. Megan understands that our past experiences shape us in powerful ways, but they do not have to define the path forward. She supports clients in exploring what they’ve been carrying, understanding their patterns with gentleness, and creating space for new possibilities.
Her approach is collaborative, flexible, and centered on meeting each person exactly where they are. While she draws from evidence‑based practices—including CBT, DBT, ACT, person‑centered, and attachment‑based approaches—Megan focuses on tailoring the work to what feels most supportive and grounding for each individual. Her goal is to help clients feel more anchored, more accepting of themselves, and more connected to their day‑to‑day lives.
Megan values humor, authenticity, and creativity in the therapeutic space. She enjoys incorporating art and music into sessions when it feels helpful, and she views her clients as the experts on their own lives. She feels genuinely honored to walk beside them as they navigate their healing journey.
She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from John Carroll University in 2024, with a concentration in substance use, and has experience working with children, teens, adults, and groups across a variety of settings.
Outside of her work at Lighthouse, Megan can often be found spending time with her two cats, enjoying nature, listening to music, or exploring new coffee and food spots.
